They pull off major armed robberies. The film starts off great with well thought out crimes plus action. The problem comes from the fact that the main job in the story is based off of the remake of the Italian Job.
Why are they using another movie as the main scene???? Despite that Takers is still enjoyable. It could have been much better however.
SO BAD. True there were some intense gun fight scenes but EH. Entire movie was lukewarm at best - and it's a shame because it had a decent cast.
I did not forget CB; I don't support wife-beaters. They're very ugly to me. In addition to being ridiculously gorgeous, they are great actors, in spite of the intensely Poor Dialogue.
The dialogue doesn't sound like it was written by a professional screenwriter. However, it does sound like it was written by someone with executive power who thought they knew better than the professional screenwriter they hired.
Whoever that was, please never do that again, ever in life, because you almost destroyed your own movie. That overly simplistic, brain-dead roll of one-liners made everyone else's job that much harder.
Simply hire the best, and let them do the rest. Stay out of it. The one actor who seemed to have very little difficulty making sense of that Dead Sea scroll of dialogue was Paul Walker.
However, that's not surprising because of his years of experience tripping the light fantastic through the multitude of FaF cacophonies.
I enjoyed those outstanding, action scenes so much that I'm going to watch the movie for a third time. I'll keep this movie on my re-watch list because it's a desirable, visual experience that is made even better by the sleek Glamor Lighting, which illuminates the distinctive stylings of the fabulous, beauty team of hair, makeup, and wardrobe artists.

I recommend that you watch it without interruption or conversation. Many of the "Goofs" are incorrect for this print. For example, the "Hotel Roosevelt" and "Roosevelt Hotel" signs aren't goofs; they're real life stock footage shots of the hotel.
Do your research. I like Matt Dillon and action films. Much of the film focused on the bad guys and their heists.
It was sort of cool and they were portrayed as super slick dudes but they were brutal people and so it was hard to get behind what they were doing.
Dillon is a somewhat depressed cop in dogged pursuit of the bad guys. You kind of wish for better for him. And I didn't particularly wish the bad guys well.
Some things just seemed unrealistic. A guy carrying a huge duffel bag full of money that would weigh or more pounds is chased by Dillon and another cop and the guy with the money is sprinting around downtown LA and hopping over things and doing gymnastic leaps and falling and getting up, all with this huge heavy load of money.
There's no way he could run like that with a bag full of neat sealed stacks of s in it. There are a few things like that in the film that don't make sense.
Oh, well. It was sort of fun. One person found this helpful. I'm a huge fan of Idris Elba, but even his acting skills barely keep this crime caper afloat.
Perhaps if there were a greater connection with the characters, their demise might have more impact. As it was I simply thought "Ho hum.
